How to Screen Share on Discord

Discord is a messaging and voice/video chat app that facilitates communication between people from all over the world. Discord has many different features that most did not know about. The interesting aspect of Discord is its screen sharing. Yes, it allows its user to share their pc/mobile screen for many purposes. Most people use the screen share tool for business purposes but we can also use it for playing games and can watch youtube with friends together.

How to Screen Share on Discord?

As a discord user, you should know about the screen share feature. This feature will help you if you want to discuss a project with your friend or want to watch a movie with your friend. The various features of Discord can assist in improving productivity in daily tasks. Screen sharing in discord is very easy so if you want to share a screen on discord then follow these steps.

Step 1: Open Discord

First of all, if you want to screen share on pc then open your “Discord” app:

Step 2: Select Direct Messages

Now from “Direct Messages”, choose the friend with whom you want to share the screen. For instance, I have chosen “penguin234”. Here, discord also provides many options you can video call or audio call your friend. here I have audio called my friend “penguin234”:

Step 3: Screen Share

As soon as the call gets connected we will see the video, mute voice, and end call options in between these options we will “screen share” option. Click on it:

Step 4: Screen Share Types

Immediately upon activation of the screen-sharing function, a dialog box will appear with the heading “Screen Share”.User can choose if he wants to share full screen or just a part of screen. Here we are sharing some parts of the screen with my friend Penguin234:

Step 5: Screen Share Tools

You can also set the “video quality”  and can change the “frame rate” and “resolution” from the provided options in the dialogue box:

Now, you are handling both “screen share” and “voice call” with your friend:

Step 7: Maximize Screen

Screen can be “maximize” by clicking on the lower right button as shown below:

Step 8: Stop Stream

You can end the stream by clicking on the “Stop Streaming” button:

After you have canceled streaming you can also end the call by clicking on “Disconnect” which is on the extreme right:
